Hourglass of light
Oil on Canvas
3 feet x 2 feet x 1 inch
$2,000.00 USD
New painting, inspired by the James Webb Space Telescope photo taken in November 2022, "The Hourglass of Light", oil on canvas 2 x 3 feet. The blue and orange dust is being shot out from a newly forming star at its center. The very young star also known as L1527, is hidden in darkness by the edge of a rotating disk of gas at the neck of the hourglass; however the light spills out from the top and bottom of the disk, lighting up the hourglass-shaped clouds. I added the swirly blue background to show movement and light.
